The Hemmingford Garden Exchange
Sweet spring, when will you return? We can be happy that the winter’s bountiful snow has protected our fragile perennials from winter’s wind and cold , and will help hydrate our forests this spring.
It is time to start planning for Hemmingford annual plant exchange. Which plants are ready to be divided in spring 2014? Dividing perennials help to revigorate them. They will give more flowers and profit from extra space. Separating flowering shrubs also rejuvenates them and helps them bear more fruit.
The 2013 Garden Exchange was a great success. This year’s success depends on everyone’s participation. Perrenials, shrubs, berry bushes, herbs, bulbs, seeds, bark mulch, compost, garden tools, decorations, etc… Bring along your extras for trade.
The more people bring, the better the exchange, the more fun it is for everyone! Have your children participate in the garden exchange, they are the gardeners of the future! It costs nothing, only «green money» to help improve and create new gardens, large and small.
As in 2013, this plant exchange will take place at the same time as the Free Tree Give-Away. These trees are offered by the Ministry of Natural Resources in conjunction with Que- bec’s 4-H Clubs. This event is organized by the Hemmingford Environment Committee.
