A garden day …
…for garden, flowes and vegetable lovers by Carole Lizote (February 2013)
February! For months already, I have been flipping through my magazines in search of seedlings and plants as I plan my garden, always imagining what my garden can be, I think of it all the time. The creation of a garden day could become a tradition as important as the arts is becoming a yearly event in our community. The creation of an exchange network is a friendly and stimulating solution and activity for small and large home gardeners. A plant exchange is a great way to diversify one’s garden and enjoy the experience and advice of others and is essential to learning new tricks: the importance of home compost, wood ash, well decomposed manure, green manure, bio, mulch, etc. Same ideas for water gardens lovers.
What is useless for someone can be useful to someone else : garden decorations, old benches, iron bells, pots, tools, spade, shears, fork, shovel ….
So start planning your list and divide up your garden for spring cuttings, seedlings, bulbs, shrubs , flowers, fruits, Herbs, Perennials and more… Even a small garden project is possible! It depends only on us to make this project a success!
DATE: Arbor Day in Hemmingford municipal parking. To be confirmed in the next Info Hemmingford.
