A green turn at St-Romain School
by Benoît Lagüe and Benoît Bleau (April 2010)
As previously announced in the last bulletin, St-Romain School has undertaken to be accredited in the Bruntland Green School movement. Many activities are scheduled for the months to come. First of all, the staff, the direction and the establishment board engaged in the continuity of the project. By earth day, all the students will be invited to experience a ‘No Garbage’ day, they will also clean the school yard and plant some trees. Later on in May, trees will be distributed to each of the 111 students of the school and they will be invited to participate in a workshop to help them understand the importance of trees in the environment. It is just a start and we wish that with the support of the community and the parents, this project will be integrated in the minds of everyone to act for a sustainable future.
