Hemmingford Archives (June 2010)
The Hemmingford Archives now has charitable status. Donations of eligible goods, services, or cash qualify for a receipt for tax purposes. Donations are essential for the continued work of the Archives.
We have hired a summer student from the University of Montreal who is studying to be an archives technician. Monyka Gagne will be entering computer data about our collection with a specialized program called Archi-Log. Greatly assisting us in this work is the recent donation of a computer by Daniel Nerenberg of St-Hubert. This will replace an old and outdated computer system.
In early fall we are planning a history event at the Stirling house on Frontier Street. The earliest construction of the house was in 1815 by Colonel John Scriver. The event will center around Scriver history connected to sig- nificant buildings in Hemmingford. Watch for more details.
The Archives has a new Website under construction by Dan Mark.
