Hemmingford Junior Council for Community Development

by Sophie Patenaude and Trevor Blaise  (October 2016)

junior-council-1With the need to assist our municipality in promoting local industrial development, agro-tourism, branding, and promotion, a Junior Council for Community Development was created by the Sustainable Development Committee (SDC) this past summer. The mission of the Junior Council is to execute the activities found within the SDC’s action plan and to develop new and innovative ideas on an on-going basis. The Junior Council primarily focuses on three main external audiences: investors, tourists, and new residents. Since mentorship is a key ingredient to sustainable development, the Junior Council’s guiding principle is to involve experienced and senior mentors throughout the process. It looks forward to working with and learning from local members of the community who have experience and knowledge to shed. The Junior Council also looks forward to collaborating with other local volunteer groups.

Under the leadership of Jayne McNaughton and Gregg Edwards, Justin Petch was named Project Manager of the Junior Council for Community Development. Other members include:

  • Pierre Beattie-Dagenais, External Relations
  • Sean Enderle, Secretary-Treasurer
  • Devon Watt, Marketing and Social Media
  • Robert Lussier, Internal Relations
  • Trenton Blaise, Special Events
  • Marc-Émile Séguin, Internal Relations
  • Trevor Blaise, Sophie Patenaude Marketing
