Local Economy – August 2011
Moving into new premises
Dr. Shannon Whatman, our veterinary surgeon for almost ten years, has taken an important decision with a view to better serving her clientele which incidentally has grown steadily over the years.
She has acquired the spacious property located at 525 Goyette Street to be occupied entirely by her clinic. This new location includes a large parking area in the rear which will be especially pleasing to clients with horses having trailers to manoeuvre. In addition the clinic’s own grooming specialist will have her own space.
The move is scheduled for the end of August.
Another welcome piece of news is the fact that Dr. Whatman is seeking another veterinary surgeon for her clinic in order to increase her opening hours and replace her during holidays.
Let’s give Dr. Whatman all the encouragement we can by entrusting to her the health of our cats, dogs, horses and other pets. Thank you, Shannon, for all you are doing to better our community.
A cider fit for royalty
NEIGE WINTER HARVEST, a locally produced ice cider, was tasted by Prince William and his wife Catherine Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, during their visit on 2 July 2011 to the Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie in Montreal.
Congratulations, Stéphanie and François ! What an honour!
«Le Chat Botté (Puss in Boots) Winery» is opening!
Isabelle Ricard and Normand Guénette invite you to come and taste the fruits of seven years of labour, the time required to realize their dream. The first grapevines were planted in 2004 and the vineyard presently holds 12 000 plants on 9.6 acres.
From these vines, they created a number of wines worthy of Bacchus, three of which will be available this fall: a rosé, a dry white and a straw wine.
Isabelle and Normand will welcome you warmly at their boutique which is located at 633 Route 202 East and will be open from 11am to 6pm Thursday to Sunday starting, September 22nd 2011. Let’s support this new local enterprise.
